What is Mobilisation?

Evidence supports the use of mobilisation by our Physiotherapists, Chiropractors and Podiatrists. Physiological mobilisation techniques have the ability to influence the passive properties of muscles and tendons, and mobilisation has become a widely used technique to achieve greater influence on the human body’s ability to move and heal from injury.

Mobilisation

How does it work

This technique is a passive hands-on movement method that aims to restore the joint’s full range of motion through the activation of mechanoreceptors within the joints. This method is done using precision movements and manipulations of the joint and muscles surrounding it. Mobilisation also has the effect of enhancing the nerve processes within muscles, causing a sensation of relaxation in the tight and tense muscles surround the nerves.

Joint mobilisation is especially effective when used in conjunction with other aspects of Peak Sports and Spine Centre’s Brisbane physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment programs.

Simply put, joint mobilisation assists in restoring the joint’s full range of pain-free motion in a non-invasive way.
