PEAK Takes on the NYC Marathon
At PEAK, we don’t just motivate our athletes to take on an experience not felt possible – we challenge ourselves to do the same....
Read moreTraditionally only one athlete wins one room however this year we saw the first ever duo in Krystle and Joe. PEAK Coaches Tia and Erica pitched the pair to the tribe and explained just why we believed that they deserved to share the room as their stories are so intertwined.

Krystle’s journey started in 2021 when she attended PEAK after completing her first full marathon. Krystle had never been a runner and this was largely due to a history of knee injuries, however she put her mind to the goal and did not let any setbacks stop her from ticking this off. Despite COVID canceling her event, she completed a full distance marathon along the Brisbane river solo. This was just the beginning for Krystle. With the help of the PEAK tribe, Krystle has gone on to now complete 5 full marathons, 4 half marathons, multiple 10km events and has set her eyes on her biggest challenge yet.
In recent years, Krystle has only considered herself a runner but this all changed in 2024. Krystle’s partner, Joe is a triathlete and Ironman which has meant that Krystle has played support crew many times for Joe over the years. This is what has sparked the idea for Krystle to take on a full distance Ironman. This was all whilst having never ridden a road bike or swam laps before. To say this was an audacious goal would be an understatement. Krystle has embodied the PEAK value of Want the Ball and not signed up to a sprint distance triathlon or even a half Ironman but signed up to a full Ironman straight away. This involves a 3.8km open water swim, 180km bike ride and finishing with a full distance marathon of 42.2km. Safe to say – it is an extreme challenge of both the mind and body!

Joe on the other hand, is an experienced triathlete having completed multiple half and full distance Ironmans. Joe also first attended PEAK in 2021 and has since made great gains in his journey to achieving his goals. In recent years Joe has had his eyes set on qualifying for both the half and full Ironman World Championship events. In 2023 Joe achieved the first half of this goal when in Tasmania he qualified for the 70.3 World Championships which was held later that year in Lati Finland. Joe traveled to the otherside of the world after a year of solid training, and lined up to compete at a World Championship event which is truly a remarkable achievement.
At the beginning of this year, Joe competed in the New Zealand full Ironman and only narrowly missed out by 3 places on a ticket for the full distance Ironman World Championships which are held in Kona. This has well and truly sparked the fire even more for Joe and he is going to be competing in his second full distance Ironman for the year in December.

On December 1st they will both be competing in the Busselton Ironman in WA. Krystle will be lining up for her first ever Ironman and Joe will be lining up with the goal to hit a PB to hopefully result in a ticket to the World Championships. The time, commitment and discipline to train for such an event is hard to comprehend. Both Joe and Krystle train over 12 hours a week all whilst both juggling shift work. Neither ever miss a training session and show up for themselves all whilst supporting each other. We are SO incredibly proud of them both. They are the true embodiment of our values at PEAK and are both striving for their own Experience Not Felt Possible whilst helping the other to do the same.
We cannot wait to cheer them on in December when they compete in Ironman Busselton. On behalf of the whole PEAK tribe and community, we would like to wish them all the best of luck!!
