Meet Loretta Masters..

In 2016, Loretta ruptured her right hamstring in an unfortunate fall which after some delay required surgical reattachment. The delay of intervention caused significant functional imbalances which led to an array of issues including back pain, foot pain, knee pain and sciatica.

In 2019 Loretta tragically lost her loving husband Roy to cancer.

With a crippling injury and the grief of losing her husband, Loretta lacked motivation but knew with the task of caring for her 2 children, as well as taking into account her own health, she needed to get her physical state back on track.

This is where she decided to come back to PEAK.

Loretta started her PEAK journey with Podiatry coach Chelsea and Chiropractic coach Matt. We asked her a question, that at PEAK we ask all of our New Athletes,

”Even though you can’t right now, if you could, what is the one thing that you wish you could do?”

This is where Loretta set herself the #DreamBig goal of climbing Mt Ngungun (of the Glass House mountains). A mountain she had fond memories of and had last climbed 9 years earlier. Loretta fearfully wrote the goal up on our DREAM BIG Wall at Hawthorne knowing that there was a literal and metaphorical mountain to climb.

Since November 2019 Loretta has been disciplined with exercise sessions twice a week starting from 20 second wall sits and glute bridge holds to now deadlifting and squatting 50+ kilos each!

In August Loretta achieved her Experience Never Felt Possible with our chiro coach Matt, reaching the top to enjoy some amazing views!

It is amazing to see not only how our athletes progress physically, as they get stronger in the prevention space but also seeing the person they become after acquiring the habits and behaviours required to achieve their DREAM BIG goal.

We are all super proud of the person Loretta has become and are excited for her to continue on to even bigger and better things!!!
