All of our athletes that walk through the door have different physical abilities, different injuries and are from different professions but all have a goal or ideal physical state they’d like to be in.
Here at PEAK we want our athletes to not be consumed by pain, we want them to be more preventative with their thinking and plan moving forward. Stats show that setting yourself a goal can increase your buy-in to what you are trying to improve and telling someone about that goal can increase the likelihood of you committing to achieve it.
When you Dream Big, it’s individual to yourself and comparing person to person can look very different. When you Dream Big and set yourself a goal it can be as big or as little as what works for yourself. Sometimes it can help to set yourself a smaller goal to help build some self belief in your ability and allow you to dream a bit bigger and set yourself a harder goal.
For someone their goal might be picking up their grandkids without pain, it might be completing a running event or it might be committing to the gym 5 days a week.
Something we might ask our athletes is “if you weren’t in pain, or didn’t have this injury what would you like to achieve?”. Removing the fear of pain can allow you to be more willing to set yourself a goal that you would otherwise deem out of reach.
Goals can be scary and they can be confronting, but working on something that scares and challenges you is where the magic happens! The sense of belief, the sense of possibility, the sense of achievement, it’s contagious! How are you going to dream big and set yourself a goal that you can’t wait to achieve?
