Chelsea has showcased the values of patience, perseverance and determination towards recently ticking off a goal she has been working towards for over two years now. On Saturday 4th September, Chelsea was finally able to complete her first Ironman event virtually after enduring endless weeks of training.
After the original plans of an overseas Ironman event being cancelled due to COVID, Chelsea sought after something more local; Port Macquarie Ironman. Averaging 15 hours a week of training whilst juggling home and family life, as well as fulfilling her full-time role at PEAK is perseverance at its finest. Two weeks out from the event, it was postponed due to flooding, then further cancelled because of COVID.
Nonetheless, Chelsea settled for completing her first Ironman virtually with her local tri club in Carina. Finally, third time lucky, she finished her first Ironman and absolutely smashed it! Chelsea has encapsulated the meaning of helping and empowering others and proves no matter the obstacle or set back you should always continue chasing your goals.
To our PEAK athletes and coaches, we have all found ourselves in similar situations throughout the period of COVID. Conquered or not, each of us can celebrate the growth we’ve endured over the course of these trying times. Although the end may or may not be near, remember to hold your head high, keep persevering and celebrate the wins, big or small.
