Common questions that PEAK Chiropractors as well as All stars receive are:

1. Should I see a Chiropractor for lower back pain?

The easy answer is yes, Chiropractic care is used for a lot of conditions, but when it comes to lower back pain they are trained extensively throughout their university study, and maintain up to date with current research for the best hands on treatment as well as exercise prescription.

What you can expect from a PEAK Chiropractor to help you with your low back pain (and not limited to)

  • A diagnosis, with what may be of internal and external influences on your back pain. Eg – a localized back spasm (internal) and your work desk setup (external)

    • PEAK Chiropractors do not require an X-Ray for your first, and ongoing appointments.

  • Hands on treatment, which may include.

    • Soft Tissues Technique

    • ART (Active Release Technique)

    • Dry Needling

    • Spinal Manipulative Therapy

  • Exercise Prescription, which depending on your presentation may be strength, mobility, stretching or a combination of all three

2. Should I see a Chiropractor for neck pain?

Short answer, yes! As well as the low back, the neck (or the cervical spine) is studied extensively for our Chiropractors to get the best result for you. Majority of the time, neck pain can be referred pain from such things as:

  • Shoulder muscle spasm

  • Cervical joint stiffness

  • Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)

  • Stress related discomfort

  • Postural related discomfort

For these conditions listed, a positive outcome can be achieved with hands on treatment as well as exercises you can be doing outside of the clinic.
Furthermore, if your neck pain is not something that our Chiropractors deem safe to treat then the appropriate referral will be made to get an assessment with another specialist and/or medical imaging.

3. Should I see a Chiropractor if I have no pain?

Not just our Chiropractors, but all our PEAK coaches have the same approach that the discipline of prevention is better than pain. That is, keeping on top of your exercise prescription as well as any ‘niggles’ that may occur day to day is a better alternative than waiting till being in pain.

There are many reasons as to why the discipline of prevention is preferred over pain, including.

  • Reviewing your current health status

  • Reviewing your exercise program

  • Manual Therapy to address any tight tissue, ‘niggles’ that could potentially lead to an injury

  • Referral if required from any of our Multidisciplinary team

At PEAK, we often find that those who choose the discipline of prevention over pain will likely be able to have Experiences Not Felt Possible, and #DREAM BIG
