More Than a Finish Line: Sophie Dyer’s T100 Journey
At PEAK Sport and Spine, we’re lucky to be surrounded by people who don’t just talk about resilience, discipline, and performance — they live...
Read moreOn Sunday, November 2nd, four of our coaches – Blane Delbridge, Michael Dawson, Lachie Stanton, Callum MacDiarmid – along with our founder, Matthew Stewart, did just that and took on the legendary challenge of the New York City Marathon.

The NYC Marathon is one of seven World Major Marathons, a series that represents the pinnacle of global marathon running. The course winds through all five boroughs – Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, and Manhattan – offering an atmosphere like no other. Runners experience everything from the quiet anticipation on the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge to the roar of the crowds lining First Avenue, before finishing in the heart of Central Park.
Completing a World Major Marathon like New York is an amazing achievement. It represents much more than just crossing the finish line; it’s about the legacy of being part of a global tribe of athletes who are dedicated to pushing their physical, mental, and emotional limits. The NYC Marathon is a race that draws athletes from all over the world, and each runner carries with them their own personal story of triumph, struggle, and inspiration.
But the marathon itself is rarely the hardest part. The real test lies in the months of preparation – the early mornings, long runs, and moments of doubt that every runner faces, when the journey becomes one of mental endurance as much as physical strength.

For each member of our tribe, the path to race day was filled with challenges. Some battled injuries, others had to juggle the stress of daily life, work, and family, all while maintaining the discipline required for long runs and early mornings.
For Blane, Michael, Lachie, Callum, and Matthew, there were plenty of moments where doubt crept in. But each one of them stayed connected to the larger vision, the bigger purpose. They remembered why they started this journey: not just to complete a race, but to inspire others, to push the boundaries of what is possible, and to embody the philosophy of PEAK.
At PEAK, we’re proud of our team for not only finishing the marathon but reaching the start line. They are proof that with purpose, persistence, and the support of a strong tribe, anything is possible. Their courage, dedication, and persistence are an inspiration to us all.
Their journey is a reminder to us all: dream big, show up, and keep moving forward – we are all capable of far more than we think.
