Trail running demands more time and energy per kilometre compared to road running. As you venture beyond the hour mark, fuelling your body becomes crucial. Energy bars, gels, and hydration packs are your allies on the trail, ensuring you stay energized and hydrated amidst Queensland’s heat. Pack extra supplies for emergencies or simply to extend your blissful trail experience.
Unlike the predictable asphalt, trails present a variety of terrains and potential hazards. Equip yourself with trail shoes for enhanced grip on slippery surfaces and be mindful of our not-always-friendly critters. Carrying a compression bandage for snake bites, a fully charged cell phone for safety, and a roll of strapping tape for emergencies are essential precautions. Additionally, consider a personal locator beacon for remote areas with poor reception. Always carry a map or utilize trail apps to prevent getting lost, and inform someone of your planned route and return time for added security.
Trail running challenges different muscle groups compared to road running. Strengthening your calves, quads, and glutes is essential for tackling climbs, descents, and changing terrains. Consult with our knowledgeable physiotherapists to tailor a strengthening program to your needs and goals, ensuring your body is primed for the trail ahead.

Fortunately, Brisbane boasts an array of picturesque trails perfect for all skill levels:
