While happy with the progress she was making, Jasmine wanted more. She decided to increase her exercise output and wanted to get stronger in the process. The gym she found happened to specialise in strength training and her coach encouraged her to challenge herself, get outside of her comfort zone and set her sights on a powerlifting competition.
While challenging to balance a busy work schedule including significant travel, a young son and her training commitments, Jasmine did what she could, when she could and stayed committed to the process. She’s also been seeing our massage coach Josh regularly to assist with recovery and help keep her injury free and in the gym.
When she first walked into the gym, a 60kg deadlift was a struggle and she could barely squat to save herself! At her last comp she managed to deadlift 125 kg with ease. Between June 2021 and now, Jasmine has lost a total of 38kg! An absolutely incredible achievement.
Having never been one to frequent a gym, it was a shock how supportive she found this new environment and with time it grew to become her new happy place.

She currently has her sights set for State titles in April where she is aiming for a total combined weight for bench/squat/deadlift of 395kg! While she still has 90 more kg to add to her existing total, we have no doubt she is going to absolutely smash this goal.
Jasmine also plans to drop down another weight category for State Titles which is going to require an additional 2.5kg to lose to get there. We know that you’ll reach this with ease.
It has been amazing to see what you’ve been able to achieve through weights, cardio, dietary changes and your great attitude. You are truly an inspiration to everyone around you! Bring on State Titles 2024!
