Loretta has been tackling goals since her earliest days at Peak. In fact, 4 years ago, in 2019, you might have seen we already shared a blog about Loretta’s story to that point. Since then, Loretta has achieved so much more and set her sights even further that we wanted to provide an update.
For a quick recap, Loretta began her journey with our chiropractor, Matt and podiatrist, Chelsea. This followed a ruptured right hamstring in 2016 following a fall, which ended up requiring surgical reattachment. The delay of intervention progressed the issue beyond the hamstring, leading to back, foot, knee and sciatic pain.

In our last blog, we discussed her goal of climbing Mt Ngungun at the Glass House mountains. It was our pleasure to see her tick the goal off the Dream big Wall within the year. Loretta was also throwing herself into prevention classes and was able to build her squat and deadlift up to 50kg.
At Peak, our athletes have more than just one and done mindsets. Loretta has continued to set more goals including losing 20kg and running 5km. Loretta has kept up her hard work and has knocked her lifting out of the park, building her squat to 100kg. Unfortunately, Loretta got knocked down by Covid-19, experiencing unusual breathlessness for months following which set her squat back down to 60kg.
Now anyone could get disheartened and lose their groove after such a drawback. Not Loretta. She has kept pushing. Since then she has shed 17kg making significant progress to her 20kg goal, built her squat back to 105kg and has started deadlifting again.
Next year she is intending to run 5km at the Gold Coast Marathon event with PEAK. We can’t wait to help her along this journey and see her cross the finish line!
Loretta continues to inspire all of us who get to see her achieve massive things, and we couldn’t thank her enough for being the bright, beautiful person she is.
