Read moreOur Women’s Health Coaches help those with concerns related to pelvic floor function and also support women through pregnancy and beyond. They are trained to assess and treat conditions that can range from:
An initial appointment with one of our Women’s Health Coaches is 60 minutes as this allows us to gain a thorough understanding of your concerns, history and goals. We use this time to ensure that we fully understand what your symptoms are and how they impact your life. Together we can identify what we think might be contributing to your problem and then plan how we can address them.

Each assessment is individual and will vary from person to person. Most assessments will involve, as mentioned, a lengthy conversation to gather information including gynecological, bladder, bowel and menstrual history. We also may look at your movement including looking at how your back, hips and posture may contribute to your symptoms. We also can perform a pelvic floor exam if we deem appropriate and you are comfortable to do so.
A pelvic floor examination is only performed if you are consenting and comfortable to do so and when you are ready, this does not have to be done on the first visit. Your Women’s Health Coach can explain what this involves which can allow you to decide if you would like to proceed. This can be very valuable as it can give us information about how your pelvic floor is functioning and guide what exercises we prescribe.

Treatment also looks different for everyone to ensure it is specifically tailored to your concerns and goals. Often education and making sure you feel empowered in understanding what is happening with your body, is the most important thing we will do! Following this, we may implement some changes including adjusting your bowel and bladder habits or give you exercises to strengthen or improve your pelvic floor function.
We understand that too often women related concerns have not been addressed or adequate education given which for years has resulted in women not having access to appropriate support. At PEAK we want to change this by offering our Women’s Health service as we believe – Empowered Women, Empower Women.
