Gentle, Professional Care for Mastitis and Blocked Milk Ducts

Breastfeeding can be a rewarding experience, but it’s not without its challenges.

Mastitis and blocked milk ducts are common concerns for many breastfeeding mothers, causing discomfort, pain, and sometimes a sense of isolation. You’re not alone—up to 20% of breastfeeding mothers experience mastitis. At Peak Sports And Spine Centre, our physiotherapists, trained in women’s health, offer confidential, gentle care to help you find relief and manage these issues effectively. With flexible appointment times and private treatment rooms, we provide a compassionate environment where you can feel supported and understood.

What Mastitis and Blocked Milk Ducts Feel Like

Mastitis and blocked ducts can vary in symptoms, but they often include:

  • Pain, Swelling, and Redness in the Breast: These symptoms can make it difficult to feed your baby or get comfortable. Our gentle, non-invasive techniques help alleviate pain and reduce swelling in a way that feels safe and supportive.
  • Lumps or Hard Spots in the Breast: Blocked ducts can lead to tender lumps, which, if untreated, may worsen or lead to mastitis. We offer effective massage techniques and gentle treatments to help relieve blockages.
  • Fever and Fatigue (With Mastitis): Mastitis can sometimes cause fever and flu-like symptoms, leaving you feeling drained and in need of immediate relief.

Our physiotherapists understand how challenging this can be for a new mother, and our treatments are designed to support you, offering reassurance and practical guidance in a comfortable, confidential setting.
