In my last blog I shared that I get sporadic back pain. Well the last 10 weeks have been uncomfortable at best but being surrounded by our amazing Coaches at PEAK and my awesome wife, Anna who is also a physio has helped keep me focussed on what I can control, and not worrying about what I can’t control.
We’ve stripped back my programme to some consistent stretching alongside core and back strength exercises which, done consistently, have started to return my mobility to something resembling normality! I’ve also started to build back up my cardio fitness with hikes at Mount Coot-Tha playing an important role in providing some incline and decline.
The challenge itinerary from Tuesday 7th August, if all goes according to plan is:
7:30am: begin the climb of Ben Nevis
12:30pm: complete Ben Nevis and drive 6 hours to Scafell Pike
6:30pm: begin Scafell Pike
10:30pm: complete Scaffell Pike and drive 5 hours to Snowdonia
2:30am: begin Snowdonia
7:30am: complete the 3 PEAKS National Challenge
I’ll be posting updates to PEAK’s facebook and instagram during the experience so be sure to follow these for the latest updates and hopefully some stunning scenery from the top of these mountains.
